Kindergarten students were introduced to the author and illustrator, Eric Carle. In art class, we watched a movie about Carle and learned about his life, his inspiration and his artistic method of collage. We learned how he treated and painted his paper. Eric Carle used tools to stamp, scratch and paint his surfaces to make colorful patterned paper. Using his technique, students created their own textured paper.
